Where are DONYA candles made?

Every DONYA candle is hand-poured in small batches in California, USA. Our designs and scents are inspired by Tehran and the painted tiles of Golestan Palace, but every candle is made here in California.

How do DONYA candles burn?

We use 100% soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks for a clean, even burn and a steady flame. For the best burn, let the first burn last 2 to 3 hours and trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every burn.

What are DONYA candles made of?

DONYA candles are made with 100% natural soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks. Every candle is hand-poured in small batches in California.

What makes DONYA candles Persian?

DONYA is inspired by Tehran: the Golestan Palace, Persian gardens and tea houses. Our scents use Persian notes like saffron, Persian rose, black tea, cardamom, pomegranate and orange blossom, and our gift boxes carry small pastel florals inspired by Persian tile art.

What is your signature candle?

Tehran No. 01 is our signature scent. Top notes: bergamot, black tea and cardamom. Heart: orange blossom, saffron and Persian rose. Base: sandalwood, amber, cedar and soft musk.

Which DONYA candles do you sell?

The Tehran Collection (Tehran No. 01, Rose Garden, Saffron & Amber, Persian Tea, Pomegranate, Cypress & Citrus and Fig & Pistachio), Noir Vanilla in a 3 oz travel tin, and Cranberry Cinnamon for the holidays. Prices start at $11.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Orders of $35 or more ship free with standard shipping within the United States. Orders under $35 have a $6.95 standard shipping fee.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 2 to 4 business days. Standard shipping takes 3 to 5 business days and express shipping takes 1 to 2 business days. During the holidays, please allow a little extra time.

Are DONYA candles good gifts?

Yes. Our Tehran candles come in an illustrated floral gift box, and we add a free handwritten gift note. They make a lovely gift for birthdays, housewarmings, Mother's Day, Nowruz, Yalda and the holidays.

How do I care for my candle?

On the first burn, let it burn for 2 to 3 hours so the wax melts to the edge of the jar. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before every burn, burn for 4 hours at most, and never leave a flame alone.

What is your return policy?

You can return unused, unlit candles in their original packaging within 30 days of delivery. A $6.95 return shipping fee is deducted from the refund. If an item arrives damaged or wrong, return shipping is free and you get a full refund.
